The assets, stock and order book of Banbury-based contract electronics manufacturer General Hybrid UK Ltd, which had been in administration since last November, have been bought by a new company, Copernica Ltd. Sufficient funding has been put in place for trading and development and most of the highly-skilled staff of the former company have joined Copernica, ensuring uninterupted production.
Managing Director Mark Wilkinson, formerly marketing manager with Flint. The new company is trading from the same address on the Acre Estate in Banbury.
Commenting on the situation, Mark Wilkinson said: "The sale of the business to Copernica will allow us to continue to meet the requirements of customers and to develop and widen the range of services offered. We are very grateful to our customers and suppliers for their loyal support."
Copernica will continue to design and manufacture thick-film hybrid circuits, sub-contract assemblies and high-voltage resistors and act as a distributor for specialised electronic components and devices. In addition to manufacture in the UK, the company offers high-volume offshore manufacturing facilities.
